CASE STUDIES

Jackie and Richard

Brief:-

Our cloakroom was out dated and dark. It needed a breath of fresh air and be in keeping with the rest of our home.

Solution:-

Your cloakroom is the room all your guests will use so we wanted to make it classy to suit the rest of the house. We chose this warm colour palette  of Sage Green for the basin unit, walls and ceiling and Wood effect ceramic tiles on the floor.

The stone effect tile on the lower wall brings everything together. The Beige Clay vessel basin follows the theme and then the oversized illuminated mirror and under cabinet lighting give a lovely warm glow to the room.

The brushed brass fittings work so well with this colour scheme and the finished result is just fabulous.

Testimonial:-

Thank you to you all for doing such a great job, we’ve had a lot of tradesmen come and go over the years and I can honestly say, you guys have been the most professional and meticulous of them all.

Sandra and Nick

it has been pleasure to work on the Sirius project with Sandra and Nick. The whole house is absolutely stunning ,and we are proud to have been a part of it. Thanks also to Sutcliffe Construction and the team at Howsons who ,installed all these fabulous bathrooms.

Guest Bathroom

Brief:-

For our guest bathroom we wanted a bold look with an almost Japanese theme to it.,We wanted some wood effect in there but weren’t sure how to do this without it looking traditional.

Solution:-

The guest bedroom had large windows and they look out onto the exterior of the house which has some Cedar wood, slatting detail on it. So we used the Grow Kalua relief tile on three of the walls and the plain version for the floor and, carried that onto the wall behind the shower tray.

The black shower tray and fittings look so stylish against this wood effect and the recessed mirror cabinet with colour, changing LED lights to give a warm or bight white light can really set the mood. A good sized wall mounted vanity unit and basin complete this fabulous bathroom.

Testimonial:-

We absolutely love this bathroom. It gives us the WOW factor we were looking for. It almost has the feel of an exclusive sauna,,When Debra and Simon suggested wood effect tiles we couldn’t quite visualise it, but we are so pleased we went with their, idea as the room looks stunning. The warmth of the wood, somehow softens the black and makes the whole room feel great!,This room compliments the house so well. We are very happy with it

Master Ensuite

Brief:-

For our master en suite we wanted clean lines. Simple elegance. Classic tiles for the floor and walls.,Nick had his heart set on a shower we had researched and the room needed to evolve from this.

Solution:-

Starting with this fabulous Nickel shower, we used a shower tray in a colour that complimented the tiles and, a large 10mm wet glass panel with a Nickel profile. The illuminated niche shelf is stylish and practical for toiletries.

The wall-mounted toilet and large basin unit keep the floor clear and the free-standing bath with wall-mounted bath, shower mixer and pendant lights completed the room perfectly. We created some shelving areas for a few ornaments and plants to soften the room. It is stunning.,

Testimonial:-

This room is exactly what we had hoped for. All the products feel luxurious in size and style. The large basin and unit with, the mirror cabinet above make getting ready a pleasure ! The shower is perfect whether you want the overhead drenching shower,or just using the hand held option.,We love all the little shelves and the niche in the shower. It all goes together perfectly.

Additional Bathrooms

Brief:-

For the two smaller bathrooms in the house we wanted simple, practical bathrooms.,We just knew we wanted a toilet, basin and shower.

Solution:-

We used the Compakt slabs with integrated basins. They look so smart and really suit the house. A simple walk-in shower and wall-mounted toilet fitted the Brief for these rooms, but this style of basin really elevated the look.

The tiles complement the rooms so well. The classic simple grey to go with the chrome, but using a subtle relief tile makes it look special.

The marble and complimentary floor tile from Museum tiles works really well with the wood effect basin and the black fittings. Two very similar rooms but with very different looks.

Testimonial:-

We love the look of these two bathrooms. The basins are so striking, they are a real feature of the rooms. It is amazing how different the two rooms look when the same products have been used, just in different colours. We really love the tiles in these rooms too. Especially the marble effect. They are very simple but work really well.

Bathroom 3

Brief:-

This room doesn’t have a window, so we fit it needed to be quite light. We wanted some storage and clean lines.

Solution:-

We used an illuminated niche shelf in the shower and mirrored this with a niche above the toilet. The gorgeous stone effect tile looks classically elegant against the white of the unit and ceramics. A generous basin unit and illuminated mirror cabinet, reflect light and make the room feel light and airy.

Testimonial:-

This is our daughter's bathroom and she is thrilled. It is just beautiful, practical and very stylish. The amount of storage is great and the shower enclosure is a great size. Having the same tile, on the floor and the walls makes the room feel bigger and having the toilet and basin wall mounted, keeps all the floor area clear and easy to clean!

Cloakrooms

Brief:-

We have two cloakrooms and these are the rooms all our friends will use when they come to our house, so we really wanted them to look amazing. We let Debra and Simon show us some show-stopping products.

Solution:-

We have created two very different cloakrooms. Using an amazing basin from Aquabella with an incredible tap this simple room looks incredible.

In the second cloakroom, the depth of colour in the tiles makes the brushed brass glow against it. A rich, dark unit from Bergbad looks great with its curved edges, complimenting the circular mirror and the curves of the toilet.

We can’t decide which one we like the best!!

Testimonial:-

Our friends and family have been suitably impressed by these two cloakrooms, in fact by all the bathrooms. The products and tiles used in these two rooms are absolutely perfect combinations. We are extremely happy with all the work Bathe of Wharfedale have done with us and would recommend them to anyone looking for great ideas for their bathrooms.

Vickie and Paul

Brief:-

We have a tiny attic en suite that desperately wanted modernising. The was a solid wall between the shower and the rest of the room, making it feel even smaller and a sloping roof to work around too!!

Solution:-

We removed the partition wall, opening up the room, which instantly made it feel bigger. We replaced the Velux window and  plaster boarded  the ceiling.

By creating a feature shelf, this allowed for the frame for a wall mounted toilet and gave us the opportunity to use wall mounted taps. The clever use of tiles in different areas makes this a fabulous and interesting en suite.

The classic marble on the majority of the walls and floor contrast perfectly with the taupe tiles on the feature wall and in the niche shelf in the shower, finishing off with a textured tile in the shower itself.

The brushed brass fittings, colour co ordinated radiator and striking wall mounted basin make this whole room look fabulous.

Testimonial:-

We absolutely love how this all came together. From the initial ideas, mixing and matching tiles to create this look. We had given Debra and Simon some images of what we were hoping to achieve, and they came up with products from various companies to give us the look we wanted, but the finished result is better than we had hoped for. The installers were clean and tidy in our home and the en suite is finished to a high standard. We are very happy with the service they all provided.

Zoe and Oli

Brief:-

We live in a cottage with a small bathroom. We wanted a shower over the bath and wanted to keep the bathroom in keeping with the cottage but with a  modern look and feel to it.

Solution:-

We used traditional-looking cross-head taps and exposed shower. A traditional-looking basin unit and a low-level toilet.

The metro-style tiles and dark grout look fabulous but by leaving some walls for painting, the green was the perfect choice to add warmth to the room.

The patterned floor tiles, accessories and illuminated mirror all add to the style of this bathroom, and blue tooth speakers add another modern touch.

Testimonial:-

We absolutely love our new bathroom. We asked for a room to suit our home and Debra and Simon did just that. The colours they used in the CAD design
looked so good we chose to paint the room that colour. The patterned floor tiles add to the traditional feel. The whole process was so easy, from their initial visit, to them coming round with samples of unit colours and tiles. It was easy to choose our perfect bathroom. The installers were clean and tidy and have done  a fantastic job

Helen and Ronnie

Brief:-

Helen asked for a contemporary bathroom with a spa feel, perfect for pampering! She wanted a his and hers bathroom with 2 basins and 2 showers and lots of storage.

Solution:-

There was a solid wall where the shower was previously, by removing this it opened up the whole room.

We used Crystaltech to make a fabulous bespoke glass panel, shaped to the sloping ceiling and also cut around the seat that we created in the shower. The beautiful Metal range of tiles from TAU ceramica look stunning especially with the contrasting tile in the niche shelves in the shower area.

The brushed brass taps and black accessories work really well together and stopped the room looking too “brassy!!” Helen asked for lots of storage so a double vanity unit with four drawers and then two extra units as well as the mirrored cabinet, she now has a place for everything. There are spotlights, pendant lights and the illuminated cabinet perfect for enhancing whatever mood you are in

Testimonial:-

We are absolutely thrilled to bits with how the bathroom has turned out. Debra and Simon listened to what we wanted  and delivered more than we had hoped for. We would never have thought to use a specially made glass panel but it works so well in the room, which now feels so much bigger after taking out the wall. The way the colours all work together is  fantastic and they even suggested the colour we should paint  the feature wall and ceiling. We are so happy with the room, the fittings and the workmen. It has been a dream for a long time, but now its a reality

Christina

Brief:-

We wanted to knock the joining wall down between the existing toilet and the rest of the bathroom to create a larger bathroom
with a luxurious bath. We wanted a classic look with a modern twist.

Solution:-

We wanted to appreciate the style of Christina’s home and came up with a plan that suited the house. The large freestanding bath with splash of turquoise tiles behind it which also houses the wall mounted bath / shower mixer give the modern twist they asked for.

The pendant lights above give such a warm glow to the room. A double basin unit works really well and with the large illuminated mirror over it makes the room feel even more spacious. The basin and toilet all being wall mounted keep the floor area clear.

The marble tiles on the walls and the wood effect tiles on the floor gave them the classic look they wanted.

Testimonial:-

Debra and Simon came and listened to what we wanted. The solution they came up with delivered even more that what we had hoped for. Little touches like the heated trees to keep our hand towels warm and dry and the pendant lights make our new bathroom even more luxurious. They created the classic look with a modern twist by incorporating a turquoise tile alongside the marble and wood effect. We love it.

Karen and Chris

Brief:-

We wanted to take the bath out of our bathroom and replace with a large walk in shower. We wanted a room to suit our home
We already had some ideas but wanted to see what Debra and Simon came up with

Solution:-

We used a large low level shower tray with a simple glass panel and a 2 in 1 shower to give a drench shower or a more gentle one. The striking tile makes this room and using the samples of flooring and unit colours came up with a great combination between us.

We really enjoy the “mood board” part of the process. Keeping the half tile height the same as the boxing in for the toilet frame and cistern helps the room flow. An extra electric only radiator also means the towels will be warm and dry, even in the summer when the heating
is turned off.

Testimonial:-

Debra and Simon listened to our requirements and came up with a plan that worked. They came with samples of lots of tiles, flooring and door samples and between us we came up with our perfect bathroom. We love the fuss free shower area with no moving parts. We are very happy and would recommend Debra and Simon for a new bathroom

NICOLA

Brief:-

We recently took on a canal side apartment in Skipton as a small renovation project and had a challenging bathroom with limited space and a fixed budget.

Solution:-

We used on trend products to create a fresh new look in the bathroom. A walk in shower enclosure with stylish Crittall Style Glass and a matt black shower compliment the matt grey tile perfectly. A useful unit under the basin and matching matt black tap. A splash back of glossy tiles add a touch of colour to the neutral tones. It all works together really well and didn’t cost the earth!

Testimonial:-

Debra and Simon worked to come up with a modern, fresh and practical solution which perfectly met our needs.  The fitter delivered and we have now launched our air bnb.  We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Debra and Bathe of Wharfedale to family and friends.  A huge thanks to the team.

Sarah and Miki

Brief:-

We wanted to modernise the bathrooms in our new house. We were looking for a WOW factor and needed help with ideas.

Solution:-

We used a classic gold vein marble tile for a base and then introduced the incredible Maiolica Gold tile as a feature behind the Brushed brass shower in the enclosure.

We also used this tile behind the basin The emerald green unit, black bowls and brushed brass taps all work together beautifully.

Mixing the brushed brass with matt black, tones the metal down and they sit together comfortably.

We introduced a third tile, a green tile with metallic elements behind the toilet and also to create a small seat / shelf in the showering area. The wood effect LVT flooring gave warmth to the whole room.

Testimonial:-

We absolutely love the bathroom, it’s amazing!! We still have decorating to do and a blind for the window to fit, but the room is stunning.

We didn’t think we would be able to have a basin each and creating the showering area despite the window being in the way was very clever.
We loved the design from the day you called round with all the samples to show us what it would look like, but the installers, who were very clean and tidy, brought your design to life. We can’t wait to do the next bathroom with you!!

Thank you, Bathe of Wharfedale !!

Rachel & Andy

Brief:-

We had two very old fashioned bathrooms complete with frogs and lily pads on the tiles.  We wanted stylish and easy to clean for our sons bathroom and a spa retreat for our own bathroom.

Solution:-

For the sons bathroom we chose a matt grey tile and a walk in shower. A neat unit to keep spare toiletries in means he can sing along to music on the blue tooth speakers while keeping the room tidy to keep Mum and Dad happy!

In the spa bathroom we used a lovely shaped bath and walk in shower, wall mounted toilet and basin unit with an illuminated cabinet. A functional room but with lighting options for whether it is being used for a leisurely bath or a quick shower. the before and after photos speak volumes!

Testimonial:-

Debra & Simon are brilliant at what they do.  Right from my initial chat with Debra (in the comfort of my own home,  might I add) right the way through the process, the service has been exceptional.

They were on hand to iron out any queries, offer advice on style, product, colours etc etc…..   there were some little touches that I hadn’t even thought about that have given our bathrooms the “wow factor”.

The before and after pictures speak for themselves and the entire process has been an enjoyable one.

We now have two,  simply stunning bathrooms.  We had a valuation on our property last week and we have also added considerable value to our house.

What makes everything even better is that we have ended up with a very high end product, but without the fancy showroom price tag.

We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Bathe Of Wharfedale… in fact, we already have!

Thanks so much… we love both of our lovely, new bathrooms.

Rachel & Andy Deeks

Karen & Chris

Brief:-

We needed a new bathroom and en suite. We had an idea of what we wanted but were unsure of which products would be suitable.

Solution:-

Debra and Simon did a CAD design which helped us visualise the rooms with various layouts. They brought tile, flooring and furniture samples to our home to help us choose the final products.

Testimonial:-

Debra and Simon have given a personalised and professional service throughout, from design ideas and plans to following through the works to satisfactory completion of 2 ensuites. Their advice on choosing products including flooring and tiles saved us a lot of time. They liaised effectively with the fitters, delivered the products as they were needed and were able to accommodate one or two necessary changes without any issues. We have been very happy with the process and love the new bathrooms.

Alex & elisha

Brief:-

We wanted to modernise our bathroom, have a large walk in shower and a free standing bath.

Solution:-

By changing around the layout of the existing bathroom we managed to fit everything into the space. The dramatic dark stone shower tray works so well with the matt black fittings and classic marble tile. An internal wall allowed us to use a stylish wall mounted bath / shower mixer and also created a shelf for a glass of wine while relaxing in the bath! The shape of the sit on bowl on the basin unit beautifully compliments the shape of the bath.

Finishing touches such as blue tooth speakers make this a dream bathroom.

Testimonial:-

“We really wanted a bath and a separate shower but couldn’t see how it would all fit in the room. Debra and Simon created this design which works really well. We went on holiday and left them to fit it all and were thrilled with the new room on our return. The fittings are all really good quality, the room looks amazing and it was all done to our budget too!

And we love the speakers !!!   Thank you Bathe of Wharfedale”

Judith

Brief:-

So the brief for this bathroom in a rental property was to make it functional and practical but still stylish. Using a bath with a shower over it and a basin, pedestal and close coupled toilet.

Solution:-

The tile looks fabulous and gives a timeless look. Creating a niche shelf at the end of the bath filled an awkward space and gave room for shampoo etc.
We love it !!

Testimonial:-

Please take a listen to the video.

Geoff & Lynn

Brief:-

We wanted a large walk in shower instead of a bath but were restricted by space.

Solution:-

By putting the basin and toilet on the wall opposite the existing bath we made enough room to be able to get in and out of a walk in shower

Testimonial:-

“We are delighted with our new bathroom. Debra and Simon’s experience in bathroom design was invaluable in creating a layout we hadn’t considered that works really well for us. Products and fitting service supplied are of a high quality at a reasonable cost”

Nicola & Nabin

Brief:-

We wanted a large bath that the water would stay in while we bathed the children. The shower was awkward to get in and out of.

Solution:-

We used a large rectangular double ended bath and using tiled boxing in at each side, created a splash zone. The children don’t have to fight over who gets the “tap end “ of the bath !!

For the shower we used the existing alcove and extended the area using a glass panel. Now it is obstacle free to get in and out of.

Testimonial:-

Please take a listen to the video.

Jan & Ben

Brief:-

We wanted a bath and a shower and the existing bathroom is just too beige !!

Solution:-

By altering the layout we made room for a lovely freestanding bath and a walk in shower. We also introduced a feature wall using the Explosion Blue tile. The rest of the room was in Fidenza grey. The black floor tile was also used in the niche shelves  and with black pottery it helped to link all the colours together.

The wooden worktop and plinth for the bath  and of course the pendant lights, softened the look and still made it feel cosy.

Testimonial:-

Please listen to the video here.

Jeremy & Judith

Brief:-

We wanted a bath and a shower in the bathroom

Solution:-

By changing the layout of the room, we got exactly that

Testimonial:-

“We’re really happy Debra and Simon , you’ve done a fabulous job. Thank you so much to you and Simon for all your help – I wouldn’t have known where to start! And I really love the tiles.”

Harvey & Shane

Brief:-

We want everything. Bath, Shower, storage and all with style… But its only a small bathroom!!

Solution:-

We changed the layout and used a J shape bath so it allowed to put the toilet at the end of the bath and not feel too closed in.  A very clever designer radiator took up very little space but looked very stylish.

We used a spacious shower enclosure and made cupboards out of the same doors as the basin unit. Fully tiled in Altemura grey, we fulfilled the brief !!

Testimonial:-

“Debra and Simon gave us everything we had asked for. We hadn’t really thought it was possible !! We absolutely love our new bathroom!!”

Paulina & Matthew

Brief:-

We wanted an industrial look and a large shower

Solution:-

We built an internal wall to allow for the pipework for the shower and toilet to be concealed. Then by using white metro tiles with black grout and black fittings we created the industrial look. The wood worktop, pendant lights and patterned floor softened the whole look

Testimonial:-

“We love our new bathroom. It is just the look we wanted and now with my plants in here it looks like the magazine images I showed to Debra and Simon.”

Carolyn & Nick

Brief:-

We wanted a fabulous bathroom that was sympathetic to the Victorian style of the house, with a modern twist. We want it to be in keeping with the coloured tiles in the hearths in the bedrooms

Solution:-

We created a fabulous bathroom using Maiolica Sea Green tiles and a beautiful double basin unit in grey. A large walk in shower and then we built in a standard bath and used a wall mounted toilet to give the bathroom a real WOW factor.

Testimonial:-

“The video speaks for itself !! We love it !!”

AVRIL

Brief:-

Avril wanted to make the best use of the space she had.  She wanted a bath with a shower over, storage and clean lines.  The room was to be fully tiled.

Solution:-

By removing the stud wall between the toilet and the rest of the bathroom we opened up the whole space. Fully tiling the walls and floor make the space look smart and clean. Using a basin unit gave the storage Avril wanted and the smart ladder rail keeps the whole room warm.
Avril can add colour to the room with towels and ornaments, this can be refreshed as often as she likes but with the stylish grey bathroom, it will be on trend for many years to come.

DONNA & HOWARD

Brief:-

We wanted to create a stylish en suite with storage and a shower.

Solution:-

We used fitted units along one wall and using wall panelling in the shower enclosure and behind the basin we created a great alternative to tiles. The fabulous mirror gives the room a defining feature, where all the curves compliment each other.

Testimonial:-

Simon and Debra created this wall of furniture which not only gives us the storage we wanted but a handy worktop area and it’s really easy to keep everything clean. The quadrant shower enclosure fits neatly into the corner of the room with no corners to bump in to !! It is finished off beautifully with the big round illuminated mirror.  We absolutely love it …. I feel like I’m showering by moonlight!!”

I would highly recommend Debra and Simon to anyone considering a new bathroom.

Bathe were a delight to work with. They were able to inspire me with her vast knowledge of bathroom design, optimising the space available. They understood the overall look I wanted to achieve and was able to suggest products from various suppliers to meet that vision.

Of particular value to me, as a single woman, Debra project managed the installation from concept to completion, finding skilled workmen to do the various stages of the installation.

I would use them again without doubt and highly recommend her to others.
